After lunch, you’ll visit Putna, an important monastic establishment dating back 500 years which encloses the tomb of Stephen the Great, an iconic medieval leader who influenced the history of Europe. We’ll stop for a refreshing lunch in a clearance and on our way back we’ll visit Moldoviţa Monastery, an architectural masterpiece in the Byzantine style included among the UNESCO world heritage sites. The afternoon continues with the encounter of a local craftswoman who will reveal interesting details on the art of dyeing Easter eggs, the old local craft of dyeing and of decorating eggs with colorful, intricate patterns.

Next, we will visit the Auroch Reservation – the European relative of the American buffalo, which is nowadays an endangered species. Close by is Neamţ Monastery, the oldest monastic establishment for monks which shelters an impressive, well-preserved library. On our way back we’ll visit the home of a quite original Romanian who turned his house into a museum – Nicolae Popa Museum. The tour guide was very prepared and shared a lot of information at every landmark. It was very interesting and I liked the historical details, especially at the religious sites. Ioana, the tour operator, was very professional and always replied as soon as possible.
