Welcome to Romania. Upon arrival, you will be greeted by your guide and start your Danube Delta Tour.  From Bucharest, you will be transferred directly to Tulcea, the main gate to Danube Delta, the place where the Danube River splits into three separate channels. Also named Europe’s Amazon, the Danube Delta boasts rare species of plants and birds and offers a rare opportunity to enjoy unspoiled nature and stunning scenery.

    Check-in to the hotel.

Overnight in Tulcea – Hotel Esplanada 4*

  2. Day 2 Tulcea – Danube Delta (Crisan)

We begin our day in Tulcea where you will travel by boat through one of the most beautiful parts of Danube Delta, on the route Channel 36, Sireasa Channel, Sontea Channel, Olguta Channel, Old Danube Channel and Mila 23 Village in order to reach Crisan Village.

We will reach Crisan Village, a fishermen village and a great base for exploring the surroundings, and also the place where you can have the best fish broth in Romania. With only 7 kilometers in length, Crisan is a genuine connecting point to the localities around the Delta.

    Check-in into a 4* guest house.

In the evening we will prepare for you a traditional fish meal.

    Overnight in Crisan

  3. Day 3 Danube Delta to Sulina

The way to Sulina, one of the oldest human settlements in Romania is by the Danube River, on the Sulina Branch.  This port town was mentioned for the first time more than 1000 years ago under the name of Selina and it is the most eastern point in Romania.  We travel by boat for about an hour, an hour and a half, and stop in the city’s touristic port. We visit the most important sights, the old churches, the 55-feet-tall lighthouse located in the middle of town and its museum, as well as the 19th century Greek Church St. Nicholas and Alexander Cathedral, a cathedral built in the memory of Dobrogea’s liberation from the Turkish occupancy.

We will have a good lunch at a local pension on the Danube shore and then we will travel by bus to the beach. If requested, you can leisure at the famous cemetery of Sulina and then reunite with the rest of the group on the beach.

You will have 3-4 hours to relax and swim in the sea (depending on temperature and water) or enjoy a stroll along the beach then go back to the boat and head to the guest house.

    Overnight in Crisan

  4. Day 4 Day trip to Letea Village and Letea Forest

After breakfast, we will visit Letea Forest and Letea Village. We will travel to Letea Village by boat, and from there we will travel to Letea Forest by car.

We will discover local attractions, walk in the fine sand then head back to the boat. Letea is a beautiful village with many traditional houses built with wood, clay, and thatched roofs, painted in traditional colors. We will leave the boat and take a safari car for the trip to Letea Forest, the northernmost subtropical forest in Europe. We will see the world’s only oak forest on salty sand, lianas, a subtropical flora that cannot be found elsewhere in Romania and the famous wild horses.

Upon returning from the forest we will walk a few steps through the village to see or photograph the traditional houses that still stand in this corner forgotten by the world, talk to people and eat fruits from local trees.

Lunch will be served back at the guesthouse and then we will proceed with another trip in order to see the sunset.

In the evening we will serve a traditional fish dinner.

    Overnight in Crisan

  5. Day 5 Mila 23 – Tulcea – Bucharest – Departure

It was founded by Lipovans, a group of Russian refugees that completely blend in with the surrounding scenery, in the early 19th century, and it is completely surrounded by water. Next, we will proceed our trip back to Tulcea and Bucharest.
