Meet the local guides

  • István Leszai

I’m István, a guide specializing in Transylvania—my home and my passion. Born in Cluj, I’ve always loved the multi-ethnic, multicultural character of this region, as well as its stunning landscapes and natural treasures. I’m fascinated by medieval history and the way different ethnic groups have lived together here over the centuries, shaping Transylvania’s unique cultural and natural heritage. When I’m not guiding, I work as a biologist in nature conservation—so you could say I spend most of my time either exploring or protecting the world around me! I speak English, Romanian, Hungarian, and understand German. During my tours, I love sharing the stories of the places we visit, adapting the level of detail to the group’s interests. I enjoy working with small groups, where there’s more space for conversation, questions, and a personal touch. What I find most rewarding in my work is the connection between people—travelers from different countries, with different interests, sharing a moment together. Every tour is an opportunity to learn something new, both for my guests and for me.

  • Claudia Maria Falutoiu

With over 10 years of experience as a tour guide, I bring energy, knowledge, and a deep love for Romania to every journey. My background in the arts and cultural management has shaped the way I tell stories—mixing history, legends, and local flavors into unforgettable experiences. I’ve worked across Europe as a curator and cultural producer, but guiding in Romania is where my heart truly belongs.

From the medieval charm of Transylvania to hidden villages and buzzing festivals, I love revealing the layers of Romania’s rich cultural heritage to curious travelers. Whether we're exploring ancient fortresses, scenic landscapes, or vibrant traditions, I aim to spark connection, curiosity, and joy.
So, for me, guiding isn’t just a job—it’s a chance to share the beauty, history, and soul of Romania with the world.

  • Traian Rosu

I come from Brasov, I am passionate about the natural life, skiing, travel and spending time with my family and close ones.

I enjoy meeting new people from various cultures as this is a great opportunity to share and learn about the immense diversity of the world.
After graduating in Sociology and Public Administration in Bucharest I have spent my early life career in IT business services in a multinational corporate environment.

It was in 2012 when I steered towards the Travel Industry as an answer to a genuine and powerful attraction.
Having explored Romania extensively throughout my life, I believe this country is under-valued, to say the least, which makes me want to share it with you.

  • Leonard Stefan

I’m an energetic, positive person, always curious to discover new things—whether it’s a mountain trail or a little-known story from a beautiful corner of Romania. Guiding isn’t just my job, it’s my passion—and I love everything about it: from planning to those special moments when I see travelers deeply moved and connected to the places we explore together.

I always put the traveler first and do everything I can to make each experience authentic, lively, and memorable. I’ve had the chance to work with people from all over the world, and every tour has helped me grow, learn, and fall even more in love with my country.
Romania has so much to offer, and I’m here to show it just as it deserves to be seen: with heart, enthusiasm, and a touch of magic.

  • Ioana Saulea

I started working as a guide by chance. After some experience with foreign consultants and public relations projects, one day somebody proposed me to show castles and tell stories about Romania to foreign tourists.

The job fully charmed me as it makes every day different, opens my mind, and gives me something to learn constantly. I love the chance to travel, meet people with different cultures and stories, and learn to adapt my style to theirs. The most I love to talk about Romania, our culture, history, and values.
At the end of the day, when tourists smile at me and thank me for making their trip nice or helping to get to know us better, I feel totally rewarded and motivated.

  • Andrei Oproiu

Hello! I am Andrei and I will be your local host today :) I am passionate about people, traveling, and telling stories about places close to my heart. I have a degree in tripsology which you can rely on and also a recognized diploma in history.

Think of me as your friendly, real-life search engine, but with better jokes and no pop-up ads. My goal isn’t just to guide you, but to make you feel like you’re traveling with a friend—one who knows the shortcuts, the legends, and where to find the best pastries. Whether we’re stepping into centuries-old churches or sipping coffee in a square, the vibe is casual, curious, and full of good stories. Looking forward to meeting you!

  • Vlad Chiciudean

I'm Vlad and I'm guiding groups around Romania since the 2000s. I started with a student's mountain club and then I continued with customized tours for foreigners that wanted to discover my incredible country.

I like to explore and discover new places, I love going outside the beaten path, but I'm also familiar with the major spots around Romania. Passionate about stories, myths and legends, history and geography, nature and music, so our conversations can cover a wide array of subjects. I love questions and curious tourists, so be sure we'll have a very rich time on the road.

  • Emil Barbulescu

I started as a tour guide in 2009, and I think it was the best decision ever. I get to travel and meet interesting new people every time. Their stories always give a fresh perspective on life. The fact that I get to show them the beauty of my country and tell them about its traditions and history is an added bonus. And, as I like to say, my office always has the best view.

  • Vlad Baciu

I am a tour guide with over 5 years of experience, and I’ve had the joy of showing visitors from all over the world the beauty of Romania – from the spectacular landscapes of the Carpathian Mountains to the fascinating stories of medieval castles. What I love most about my work is the connection with people and the joy of offering them authentic experiences. Romania is a country rich in traditions, nature, and history, and every tour is a new opportunity to rediscover it through the eyes of my guests.
