Detailed itinerary

In Iasi, you will take a stroll through the Stephan the Great Boulevard and discover the bohemian atmosphere of the city. You will admire the Rozovanu Palace and the oldest national theatre in Romania, the „Vasile Alecsandri” National Theatre, as well as two of Iasi’s most important religious sites: the Three Hierarchs Church and the Metropolitan Cathedral. Next up, we will visit the most important landmark of Iasi, the Palace of Culture, and its beautiful Clock Tower. We will also visit the Golia Monastery, and our city tour will end at the Library of the „Gheorghe Asachi” Technical University.

Overnight in Iasi

In the morning we are leaving for the Bucovina region. Your first stop will be at the crown jewel of the Painted Monasteries, Voronet. Voronet Monastery is famous due to its frescoes painted in a shade of blue whose composition remains a mystery to the modern world.

After Voronet, you will visit Moldovita Monastery. Here, you will be witness to the art of egg dyeing, a craft that is specific to this region of the country.

Sucevita is the only Painted Monastery surrounded by fortified walls. The religious edifice is part of the UNESCO heritage and was built in a Moldavian style, with Gothic and Byzantine influences. Its murals are dominated by the colour green, obtained through an ancient technique from natural pigments.

At Marginea, you will discover the famous art of black pottery in one of the last black pottery workshops in the country.

Overnight in Gura Humorului

You will visit the Neamt Fortress, an important military and historical landmark that survived the siege of Sultan Mehmed II, the conqueror of Constantinople.

Before heading back to Iasi, we will step inside a private peasant museum. The museum has the name of Nicolae Popa, a local sculptor and a true creator of folklore. Here, you can witness his creation and try on the ritual masks and traditional costumes.

You will be transferred to Iasi to your centrally located hotel.

Accommodation and breakfast are included.
