Learn about Count Dracula's legend while wandering into Bran castle
Take a walk through the Transylvanian villages
The first destination on your list is Bran Castle, a location with a history of more than 6 centuries, more commonly known as Dracula’s Castle. Over the ages, the legends of the castle became stronger than its history, and hundreds of thousands of tourists visit Bran Castle each year in search of Dracula.
You will then visit a quaint village located at a height of more than 1,000 meters. This land is a true piece of heaven, surrounded by some of the most important Carpathian Mountains, such as Bucegi, Leaota, Piatra Craiului, and Postavarul.
Next, you will head to the Bats’ Cave, located in the northwest of the Bran platform, at an altitude of approximately 950 meters. The cave was created by the erosion of the mountain by the Valea cu Cale Creek, and its name is given by the massive bat colonies that live inside it, including some unique species of bats.
You will take a visit to Fundatica, an area located at the highest altitude in Romania. In this place, the fresh mountain air keeps the locals healthy, and the average lifespan of more than 80 years serves as a testimony to this claim.
After a delicious traditional lunch, you will start a trekking journey towards a traditional sheepfold, where you will see how the sheep are milked and how the local cheese is produced, following methods and traditions passed down from generation to generation.
At last, you will catch the sunset in Brasov, where you will visit the city's Old Town, a place which preserved the layout of its streets as well as the medieval fortifications that surround the city.
